They are two of the common names, among the many that the sleeper receives, a very common plant. It is also known as ababolons, poppy, cascal, opium, papaver. Its scientific name is Papaver somniferum and belongs to the family Papaveraceae. Several alkaloids, including opium and its derivatives, can be extracted from it. Very potent painkillers are obtained for medicine and the pharmaceutical industry.
